What is The Homestead Scarborough Satellite?
The Salvation Army Homestead began offering its Scarborough Satellite Program in the Fall of 2001. The goal of our program is to provide a safe environment and a comprehensive addictions treatment/recovery program to assist and encourage clients in their physical, psychological, emotional, social and spiritual rehabilitation.
New Community Groups are now being offered at various sites in Scarborough. These groups are 1 1/2 hours on Tuesday and Thursdays. No need to sign up. Free on site child care is offered at specific locations (please call ahead to make arrangements)
We accept women who...
are aged 18+
may be dealing with concurrent disorders
are male to female trans-gendered clients
The community groups consists of:
Stages of change and stages of recovery- Skills and strategies to deal with relapse and topics such as Understanding Relapse, Phases and Warning Signs of Relapse,
Addiction information – Different recovery-related topics for each session Addiction issues, treatment options, drug information, and its effects on the body, mind developing and accessing social supports, coping skills, Feelings, self esteem, stress management
Exploring self care- Healthy strategies for looking after oneself.
